What is a 100 smart score on IXL? ›

A skill is mastered when the SmartScore reaches 100, but the number of questions it takes to master a skill varies with every student. To continuously motivate students, IXL recommends setting other practice milestones along the way to mastery. A score of 80 is proficient, and a score of 90 is considered excellent.

You earn a medal every time you master a skill. See all of your medals on the practice page for your grade, next to the names of the mastered skills!

When your child gets a question wrong, their SmartScore will drop, and they will get easier questions. This gives them more time to solidify their knowledge! Your child can keep practicing to increase their score.

Enter your IXL username and password to sign in to the IXL app! Does your school have a unique sign-in page on IXL.com? Remember to enter your school's “custom domain” (for example, @springelementary) at the end of your username! Does your school use Single Sign On through Google, ClassLink, or Clever?

As always, a diagnostic level indicates a student's working grade level—for example, a level of 800 indicates readiness to work on eighth grade level skills.

For example, a score of 650 indicates that the student has acquired about 50% of 6th-grade material, whereas a score of 700 indicates that the student is ready to learn 7th-grade material.

Fourth grade is displayed as Level F.

Grade level guide: 100 = 1st grade, 200 = 2nd grade, 300 = 3rd grade, 400 - 4th grade, 500 = 5th grade, 600 = 6th grade, 700 = 7th grade, 800 = 8th grade, and 900 = 9th grade. By clicking on the IXL image above or the word IXL, students will be forwarded to the log in page.

Infinite! There are over 8,500 skills and unlimited computer-generated questions, so there's always fresh and compelling content! With IXL's unique scoring algorithm, questions adapt to the student's skill level to ensure the student is constantly challenged and engaged.

IXL has a strong focus on math and language arts, while Kumon focuses on math and reading. Consider your learning style: If you are a visual learner, then you may prefer IXL's games and quizzes. If you are an auditory learner, then you may prefer Kumon's worksheets and workbooks.

Clicking on the IXL Learning link in Canvas can result in the message, “Error code 21: We could not sign you into IXL with Canvas at this time.” Deleting cookies (presumably either the IXL or Canvas cookies, but I deleted all of them) will fix this problem.

If you forget your IXL administrator password or username: Go to www.ixl.com/help. Select Reset password or Recover username on the left, and enter your information. Click Submit.

Diagnostic scores on IXL correspond to grade levels. A score of 500 indicates readiness to begin working on 5th grade skills. As soon as a student has finished diagnosing, you'll have immediate insights waiting for you in IXL Analytics.

For example, a score of 350 indicates that a student understands about 50% of 3rd-grade material and a score of 400 indicates readiness to begin working on 4th-grade skills. These levels range from 0-1300, with 0-50 representing pre-K, 50-100 kindergarten, and 1300 representing the end of 12th grade.
