What time do the trolleys run in Gatlinburg? ›

Runs approx. once an hour, 10:30 am • 6:00 pm.

There are no fares or fees to ride the Gatlinburg Trolleys.

Gatlinburg Trolleys operate on a daily basis, serving visitors and residents 365 days a year, providing an easy, free way to get around Gatlinburg.

Once you get to Pigeon Forge, you can relax and leave the driving to us. Pigeon Forge Mass Transit trolleys travel to more than 200 official stops in Pigeon Forge, as well as select locations in Gatlinburg and Sevierville.

The Pigeon Forge Mass Transit app provides trolley arrival times, trip planning on PFMT, and the ability to buy and use passes to ride the trolley. This app provides all the tools you need to enjoy the trolleys.

The Island does have a stop. Anakeesta is in gatlinburg so getting there for the PF trolley system would require taking the PF trolley to the Gatlinburg visitors center and taking a gatlinburg trolley from there.

Pigeon Forge Trolley Fares

Individual fares will be paid every time you board a trolley. To save the most money, we recommend purchasing an all-day trolley pass for only $3! All other routes are only $1, which the exception of Dollywood and Dolly's Splash Country, which are $2.50. Children 3 and under are free.

The only way to access the top of the mountain (where the Gatlinburg SkyBridge is located) is to buy an admission ticket at the SkyPark ticket window and then ride the yellow SkyLift chair to the top of the mountain.

Wristband (Ages 5-59): $49. Wristband (Ages 60+): $39. All Activities (Ages 4 and Under): FREE.

Compare and Save

So, when it comes down to it, Pigeon Forge is generally the cheaper option when comparing lodging, activities, and restaurants. However, there are exceptions to every rule. Be sure to compare prices for each city before making your final decision.

The best way to get around Gatlinburg is on foot and by trolley. Downtown Gatlinburg is easily walkable and the town's trolley operates 365 days a year with free service to nearby attractions, including a connection to the inexpensive Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, trolley system at the Gatlinburg Welcome Center.

Does the trolly go to Dollywood? ›

The trolley leaves Patriot Park and travels to Dollywood continuously, allowing plenty of room for everyone who wants to board! In general, you can expect about 15 minutes between each trolley unless there is some kind of delay due to traffic conditions.

Schedules: Main Street transit run every 20 to 25 minutes. Wears Valley transits run every 40 to 45 minutes. Dollywood transits run every 15 to 20 minutes.

Another great thing about the Gatlinburg Trolley system is that it is a bargain to ride! Although fares used to start at 50 cents go up to $2 for an all-day pass, they're now offering an even better price: free! That's right, the Gatlinburg Trolley is completely free to ride.

Trolleys depart about every 45 minutes during route hours from the South end of the Park 'N Ride lot. The route runs through the Gatlinburg entrance, along the Parkway, South on River Road, on to the Parkway and downtown, and back to the Gatlinburg Welcome Center. Stops include: North Parkway.

The Pigeon Forge Mass Transit trolleys travel to more than 200 official stops in Pigeon Forge, as well as select locations in Gatlinburg and Sevierville, for a modest fare. Stops are a short distance from restaurants, attractions, shops and theaters.

Schedule Information

The Pigeon Forge trolley system has a fleet of over 40 vehicles, so there is never a trolley too far away! The trolleys operate daily from 8 a.m. to midnight from March through October, and daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in November and December.

The Tram departs every 20 minutes traveling at speed of 17 mph with a distance of 2.1 miles. Total trip time from the downtown station to the mountain top is about 10 minutes.

The Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community Trail is open year-round. Opening and closing times may vary for some shops. Most have hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The system serves three routes. The Red Route starts at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. Our hotel is found on this route, and the trolley actually picks up and drops off at our front door!
