So... here's a thing I figured I'd do purely for the fun of it. What're yours? | Fandom (2024)

You guys know what Nendoroid figures are, right? Well, if you do, chances are you have atleast one character you really want to see get the Nendoroid treatment, but said character hasn't gotten it yet, right? Well, today's Klonoa meme post (albeit one that seems to be stretching the definition of meme) will serve to showcase my personal most wanted Nendoroid figures, even though I don't collect any myself.

• To begin, obviously Klonoa himself had to show up here. Of course, his Door To Phantomile design already has a figure, complete with Huepow being included with him, but here I'm specifically talking about the Lunatea's Veil design with the blue zipper drip. Lolo and Popka are also not too far behind since I feel Lolo deserves her own figure as well, and Popka can be included with her in a similar vein to how alot of the Pokémon Trainer figures include one or two Pokémon they're associated with. Finally, to round out the Bandai Namco representation, Pac-Man shockingly hasn't gotten a figure yet, so he's here too!

• Now for some Sega characters! I'm glad that Good Smile's finally been diving into Sonic Nendoroids again after so long, and since Tails, Knuckles and Shadow now have figures, I'd say the next characters in the series to get the treatment may be Amy and Eggman; Amy because she's being treated more and more like a core member of the cast these days, and Eggman because he's the series antagonist. I also made sure to include NiGHTS here as well, since they've also been making more and more Sonic-adjacent Sega character Nendoroid figures as of late, and on top of having a top tier character design, NiGHTS does share the same Sonic Team blood as the Blue Blur himself.

• For other video game characters, PaRappa, Bomberman and Niko from OneShot are included here, although PaRappa is more of a pipedream-y pick since no part of Sony outside of Team Asobi cares about PlayStation's legacy and all. Also, Oswald The Lucky Rabbit is here 'cause he's my favorite Disney character and they've made a plethora of Disney figures as part of the line-up in the past, and Felix The Cat is here 'cause I feel like he'd be suited to a Nendoroid figure quite well. I mean, there was even a Japanese clothing line themed around the character a while ago, so it's not like he's completely unknown over in the land of the rising sun.

• Finally, I had to include some anime/manga representatives here considering Good Smile is based in Japan and all, and since Azumanga Daioh happens to be my favorite anime, it was inevitable that Chiyo, Sakaki, Tomo, Yomi, Osaka and Kagura would be included. Heck, we already have a figure for Yotsuba Koiwai, and she shares the same creator, so it's not outside the realm of possibility, even if this is yet another set of pipedream-y picks.

...and there you have that, folks. There are a couple others I'd like to see get figures at some stage, namely Yakko, Wakko & Dot of Animaniacs, Sam & Max, Strong Bad and Homestar Runner, but I didn't include them in the image because I decided to limit myself to characters that aren't completely unknown in Japan. In the case of the Warners, the only exposure they ever got in Japan was a short-lived partially lost Japanese dub of the original show where Dot was voiced by Ikue Otani! Yes, that Ikue Otani. Oh, and the reasoning for the absence of any Kirby characters here is due to me feeling content with the selection of Kirby figures we already have as part of the line-up; I already got what I wanted when King Dedede's figure got announced back in mid-2022, so anything after is just a bonus to me.

Y'know, I'm actually getting curious as to what characters you'd like to see get the Nendoroid treatment if they haven't gotten it already. Do feel free to let me know who they are in the replies, as I feel this could make for a pretty fun discussion about hypotheticals and whatnot!

• The original four Pac-Man ghosts (AKA Blinky, Pinky, Inky & my boi Clyde)

• The Squid Sisters (Callie & Marie)

• Bomberman

• The Team Rocket trio from the Pokemon anime (Jessie, James & Meowth)

• Sailor Moon

• SpongeBob SquarePants (That's how you spell SquarePants)

• Squidward Tentacles

• Jenny "X-J9" Wakeman

• Alongside the Lunatea's Veil heroes, I'd also like Leorina and Tat (Especially the latter of the two since I like her more)

• Homer Simpson (What, doesn't Mr. Sparkles count?)

• And finally (Just for the LOLs) a character from either Madagascar 1 or Ice Age 1, since I love referencing both so much.

You'll be happy to know that Mario, Luigi and SpongeBob already have Nendoroid figures! No Squidward though, but Patrick has one atleast.

That aside, these are all solid choices for possible Nendoroid figures! I'm not sure if Leorina and Tat are as likely, but I wouldn't mind seeing them get the Nendoroid treatment, and it's odd how the only Mario characters to have gotten figures thus far are Mario and Luigi; I'd love for them to start diving into the Mario cast again at some point, and considering how long it took for us to get Tails and Knuckles after we got Sonic, I'd say it's never too late!

Lastly, considering a Nendoroid figure of Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon exists, DreamWorks characters are indeed on the table. I wonder how long it'll take until we get a Shrek figure? Maybe it'll tie-in to the release of Shrek 5, like how the Garfield figure tied in to The Garfield Movie's theatrical release? Who knows!

Oh, it tied into the release of the more recent Garfield film that was, well, released this year, so Chris Pratt Garfield. That said, the actual figure looks more like Garfield's usual design rather than his appearance in the 2024 movie. Not that I mind or anything, I'm just shocked Garfield got a figure at all since from what I've heard he isn't too popular in Japan...
